Secondary students enjoyed BASE Camp summer program

A Broadway Middle School student looks at slides that students created during the BASE Camp's summer program, after collecting water samples from the Chemung River. This program, which features after-school activities during the school year, is provided by a grant from the New York State Education Department 21st Century Community Learning Centers.

Diven students give back to the community

This summer, Diven students took part in a service learning project at Eldridge Park. Along with cleaning up the park, they chose to research either the park's animals, nature or history. The students produced informational pamphlets and stories that were given to Eldridge Park to share with the rest of the community. The students plan to continue to work on a book they began this summer in hopes of publishing it and donating any proceeds to the preservation of the carousel.
