Welcome to the Broadway Elementary School Counseling Page!
My name is Sarah Rosen, and I am the School Counselor here at Broadway Elementary School.
My responsibilities allow me to interact with each student in a variety of ways. Each month, I go into the classrooms and teach lessons that promote healthy development. The themes of these lessons align with the grade level curriculum and the National School Counseling Standards. Some examples of themes are: Prosocial behaviors, Problem solving skills, Empathy and Perseverance.
I also co-facilitate Town meetings with our Assistant Principle, Mr. Sancomb. These meetings are another venue in which I interact with every student by grade level. Here, we discuss current issues relevant to the school/grade level & we also recognize those students who are practicing S.O.A.R. behaviors and being model school citizens.
Individual counseling is offered on a short-term basis for every student at BWE. I also facilitate Group Counseling during the year. Some Group Topics include: Anger Management, Social Skills and Self-Esteem.
I am a strong believer in the benefits of open communication between school and home. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have for your child and I will work with you to ensure his/her needs are met here at school. If there are needs outside of school that your child or family may benefit from, I also collaborate with community agencies and help to bridge those services to you.
I look forward to working with you and your child.
