Dear Elmira City School District Families,
As you know, New York State Education Department released Guidance for Re-Opening Schools on July 13, 2020. The guidance directs school districts to develop possible ‘return-school-plans’ by July 31st. We want to thank the 2,000+ parents and students who completed our “School Re-Opening Survey” in the last 10 days. Your insights and feedback are critically helpful in developing our return-to-school plan.
Throughout this week, our administrative staff and faculty are meeting to discuss re-opening plans for the Elmira City School District and to review your important survey data. The insight from the parent/student survey is incredibly valuable to these discussions. As you know, this plan is multi-tiered with a variety of significant considerations. As we undertake the development of these plans, your input throughout this process continues to be critical.
Further, NYSED guidelines require the District to respond to what a hybrid-model of instruction would look like (to include both in-person instruction and online learning from home). We ask that Parents of Students of the Elmira City School District complete the brief survey below regarding a hybrid-model of instruction by Monday, July 27, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. We appreciate you completing this survey so that our instructional teams can begin finalizing plans.
