Facilities

The Elmira City School District will utilize ARP ESSER funding to make school facility repairs and improvements to enable operation of schools to reduce risk of virus transmission and exposure to environmental health hazards, and to support student health needs; and perform inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, replacement, and upgrade projects to improve the indoor air quality in school facilities, including mechanical and non-mechanical heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, filtering, purification and other air cleaning, fans, control systems, and window and door repair and replacement.

Our primary goal is to reduce pathogen transmission risk through enhanced cleaning protocols, equipment and supplies, as well as through modification/improvement of our HVAC systems.

Our targeted efforts are the following:

-Humidity Control and Air Conditioning

-Continue to provide Merv 13 filtration in mechanical systems that serve multiple spaces

-Outdoor learning spaces - courtyard

-Additional Bottle Fill Stations to reduce the risk of pathogen transmission at traditional drinking fountains

-Touchless fixtures in classrooms and bathrooms where not already installed
