Technology

The Elmira City School District will utilize ARP ESSER funding to purchase educational technology to support regular and substantive educational interaction between students and their classroom instructors, which may include assistive technology or adaptive equipment.

Technology is a Learning Tool

The ARP ESSER funding is specifically targeted at closing learning gaps during the pandemic. The District plans to purchase educational technology, which could include hardware, software, and connectivity, for students served by the ECSD. This technology will help facilitate remote and hybrid learning and instruction for students and staff, including low-income students and students with disabilities.

Primary Learning Loss iPad Program

1:1 iPad program for primary schools for grades PK-2 to address Learning Loss.

The program will allow every student access to an iPad in school.

Teachers will be able to use software programs during and outside the instructional day (after school, summer) to help supplemental instruction to address individual students’ gaps.

The additional devices will allow for more flexible grouping of students, station based learning, and enhanced opportunities to provide students with on demand learning.
