Today is Law Enforcement Appreciation DayAcross the country on January 9th each year, citizens take the lead to show support on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

Law Enforcement Officers of every rank and file have chosen a profession that puts their life on the line every day for their communities. We are especially grateful to our School Resource Officers (SROs) who serve every day in our schools.

Our SROs are employed by the County sheriff's agency and work closely with school administrators in an effort to create a safer environment for both students and staff. The responsibilities of SROs are similar to regular police officers in that they have the ability to make arrests, respond to calls for service, and document incidents. But we know that School Resource Officers serve many additional roles, including mentoring and conducting presentations on youth-related issues.

Our School Resource Officers serve as mentors, friends and trusted adults to many of our students. We appreciate our law partners today and every day!

Thank you for your service!
