October 2022 Shout-Outs

Express Shout Out

Shout-Out Goes To: Wendy Nichols, Bus Driver/Trainer, 19A CE/SBDI
Submitted by: Michele Earley

"Wendy Nichols does a phenomenal job training school bus drivers and her assistance and encouragement doesn't end after training is complete. Recently, when a new driver was substituting and running late on picking up students, dispatch was calling to find when the driver would be at certain stops. This can be very stressful for a new driver. Wendy chimed in on the radio telling the driver that they were only a little behind, and not to worry as they were doing an awesome job! Certainly that eased the driver's mind with a very much needed word of encouragement! Wendy also organizes food trucks to set up at the bus garage to help in bringing the staff together to relax and enjoy some good food!" ~Michele Earley

Shout-Out Goes To: Mr. Matthew Burch, Parley Coburn Principal
Submitted by: Melissa Montopoli, FNP-C, Nurse Practitioner

"Below is letter drafted by Mr. Burch in support and recognition of the professional knowledge and team value of the school nursing staff. Mr. Burch reached out the nursing staff to create this letter and made the nursing staff feel like an important part of the Parley Coburn team. This is a shout out worth its weight in gold in my opinion. When education and health care combine to support our students in their educational and health outcomes we will be an unstoppable successful team!!!" ~Melissa Montopoli, FNP-C, Nurse Practitioner

Shout-Out Goes To: Administration Building Staff and Maintenance Staff
Submitted by: Christine McIntire, Clerk

"I have been here a little over a month now. From my first day everyone has been so welcoming with their hello’s, complaint’s and smile’s. But not just that but with showing me the ropes, helping me as needed, and with answering my questions “even the new ones that pop up daily”. I am just amazed at how friendly and kind everyone has been and continue to be! I know if I need anything there is always someone that will help me even when they could use some help themselves. So I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for making me feel at home! Thanks so much!" ~ Christine McIntire, Clerk
